'Hurt does not equal harm'.

Exercise is important and has many health benefits.  For people with chronic pain, exercise is important for the active management of their condition. When undertaking a new exercise program or becoming more active it is not unusual to have some discomfort especially if you have been inactive because of your pain.  Remember the mantra hurt does not equal harm.  With the help of your physiotherapist you can gradually increase your activity, improve your quality of life and function and become better at self-managing your pain.
